Our policies
How booking, canceling, draping and pressure work for the two of you. Nothing here is a surprise at the door.
Booking and deposits
Book on the booking page or call us. A deposit holds the two tables for your visit and goes toward your session. You see it before you confirm, and you can ask us about it first.
Canceling and running late
Please give us 48 hours to cancel or move a visit, on your booking page or by phone. If one of you is unwell, tell us and we will move it. If you are running late, call us. We keep the end time so the next guests start on schedule, which can shorten your session.
If you miss an appointment
If you miss a visit without telling us, we keep the deposit. If you can't come, please call or write as early as you can and we will always try to find you another time.
Children and companions
Twain is for adults, 18 and over. Both of you are draped throughout, so we ask that children and other companions don't wait in the room. A friend is welcome to wait in the front room.
If you're not happy
Tell us within a few days and we'll make it right. Call or write, and we will talk it through with you and with your therapist, then find a time that works for the two of you.
Tipping
Tips are welcome and never expected. You can leave one at the front desk when you go, and it goes to your therapist.
Undressing and draping
Both therapists step out while the two of you undress to your own comfort and get under your sheets. You are covered the whole visit. Only the part being worked on is uncovered, and then it is covered again. Therapists work bare-handed, and nobody uncovers anything you haven't agreed to.
Pressure, consent and stopping
Each therapist asks you about pressure and any area to avoid before starting, and checks in again partway. You choose your pressure and your partner chooses theirs, and they don't have to match. Say lighter, firmer or stop at any time and we do it at once. If either of you asks to stop, that table stops. The other carries on only if you both want it to.
Before your visit
Arrive ten minutes before your time to settle in and hang up your coats. Wear whatever is comfortable, eat lightly, and skip strong perfume. We provide robes, sheets and slippers. Please turn your phones off or leave them in the front room.
When to ask your doctor first
If either of you is pregnant, has a recent injury or surgery, a circulation or skin condition, or takes a medicine that affects bleeding, please ask your doctor before booking and mention it when you book. We may ask for a note from your doctor first, and some visits are better after a few weeks. We don't diagnose.
